After nearly 10 years of faithful leadership, Bishop Ken and Jane Hudson have announced their retirement from the Church of God Children's Home. Together, they conclude more than 45 years of full-time ministry, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of faith, service, and transformational leadership.

During their tenure, God has blessed the Children's Home in countless ways. The Home celebrated its 75th anniversary, achieved Council on Accreditation status for the first time in its more than 80-year history, and has successfully maintained that accreditation while undergoing another reaccreditation process. Under Bishop Hudson's leadership, the Home also completed five successful relicensing processes and remains fully licensed.

One of the most significant milestones was the development of a foster care ministry. Today, the Children's Home recruits, trains, and licenses foster families while placing children in loving homes through both family and therapeutic foster care programs.

The campus also experienced extensive improvements, including renovations to every cottage, the gymnasium, cafeteria, office, staff duplex, and parsonage; a new foster care office dedicated in honor of former Director Jerry Smith; new generators for the cottages; a completely renovated playground; electronic security gates; new roofs on all 13 buildings; and repaved roads and parking lots. An endowment fund was also established to help ensure the long-term future of the ministry.

Through every accomplishment, Bishop Ken and Jane faithfully pointed others to Christ, recognizing that every success has been made possible through God's provision and grace. Their vision, compassion, and unwavering commitment have left a lasting impact on the Children's Home, its staff, and the countless children and families whose lives have been forever changed.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Bishop Ken and Jane on their retirement and thank them for their years of faithful service. May God richly bless them in this new season of life.

What Do We Do?

Our home provides a positive and safe living environment for kids who have spent their lives in less than suitable environments where they were left untended, abused, neglected, and at risk for falling into dangerous lifestyles. We work 24/7 to meet the physical, mental, social, and spiritual needs of hurting children. Our mission has always been to see them grow in maturity and their ability to make decisions that will lead them to be productive citizens.
